Surrey’s loneliness certainly permeates the attitude. The junked car is symbolic of his distaste for cars. Early evening has set in. In the distance one can only speculate that we see the dome of St Joseph's Oratory. A guitarist appears sporadically in Surrey’s pictures. For those of us who were there, they are very much of time and of a place, time capsules, witnesses to their days.
