“The present owner of this painting met the artist when he was in the Yukon as an engineer for the mining company United Keno Hill Mines. He encountered Jackson painting on a ridge, and later spent an evening with him and painter Maurice Haycock at Elsa Lodge in Elsa, a privately-owned mining town which is now closed.”
