Much of Iacurto’s painting is of the Quebec City area. Perhaps, to the detriment of his reputation, even too much, is compositionally focused on the precise area around the Chateau Frontenac. That location provides imagery for considerable commercial appeal. However, locating Icurto in Quebec City, and in consideration of this composition and the proximity from shore to shore across the river as well as the suggestion of a number of buildings across the river, hypothetically we might find Iacurto working from a spot on the Plains of Abraham.
