signed l.r. "J.E.H. MacDonald"; Label on verso hand-written and signed by J.E.H.MacDonald: "HUNGABEE Mountain from old Lake O'Hara Camp, Rocky Mtn, Canada. 8 miles south of C.P.R. The sketch was made at the beginning of Sept. 1926, at an altitude of about 6800 ft. when a recent snowfall had almost disappeared. Hungabee has an altitude of 11,447 ft. The name is a Stoney Indian word for "Chieftain", signifying surprise or commanding. The depression on the right is OPHABIN PASS & at the right side MT. BIDDLE (10,878 ft.) under which lies the famous mountain lake McARTHUR."; Handwritten on back L " Certified, Thoreau MacDonald - Thornhill 1965"
