— This is a real time capsule in terms of activity, buildings and dress. There can be few better slices of urban life that have for the most part disappeared due first to the suburbanisation of cities and then the regeneration of the urban core when urban planners recognised their folly. Extraordinarily, however, with the building of a community school on the block featured in Little’s painting, there exists today a large playground where the rink is featured. -
