Most de Lall enthusiasts know of him through his large body of work painted in Quebec's Laurentians, in or near Ste-Adele. There he painted primarily the glories of autumn foliage over his reverscapes or winter rivers, compositionally not dissimilar to Maurice Cullen but “in de Lall” with a loaded paintbrush or palette knife. This is a special de Lall, painted at Quebec City with a snippet of the Citadel looming above on the right. One acknowledges an ability that is reminiscent of Robert Pilot in this accomplishment.
