At the outset, it needs to be said that this is an extremely attractive and colorful urban snowscape by John Little. The compositional elements of the red fire hydrant, the mini skirted pedestrian and the children playing in the distance set in a stage of sunlit snow and colorful homes, and cars, creates an exceptionally uplifting composition. From this perspective alone, it can most certainly be enjoyed. However, the underbelly in all this is, of course, the other side of John Little’s work, namely, that this street was scheduled to be demolished under the guise of urban renewal.
