It is with sadness that we learn of the passing of Claude A Simard, RCA. Over more than three decades my family has enjoyed the pleasure of knowing ‘’Claude A’’, Claude’s wife, muse & manager Huguette, watching their lovely daughters Roseline and Melanie-Rose grow from childhood to motherhood as well as working professionals, and hearing of Claude’s excitement painting with their grandchildren Emma, Clara Eve, Charlotte and Thomas-Claude in the studio at Lac St-Joseph.
Claude’s greatest legacy, in addition to his family, is the important body of painting he leaves among us, where in an art world permeated with angst, tragedy and turmoil “Claude A” shared joy and beauty with his audience.
We join the extended Simard family, friends and Claude A. Simard fans in mourning Claude’s passing.
