Wawa is located on the eastern shore of Lake superior, on the Trans Canada Highway north of Sault Ste. Marie and south of White River. The shore of Lake superior at Wawa is an area that is recorded to be of interest to Jackson on regular visits between 1955 and 1966. Various and numerous sources claim that Jackson stayed in a cabin at Sandy Beach at Wawa.
