Alyne Gauthier-Charlebois
From "Fine Art & Hockey: A Point of View":
Precious little is written about Alyne Gauthier-Charlebois beyond her important contribution, along with other female artists of the day, in "sharing art" as art educators. Esther Trépanier has uncovered that Alyne Gauthier, beginning in 1925, was a student for 5 years at the École des beaux-arts de Montréal before continuing at Paris' Académie Julian for two more years. Mme Trépanier also documented her participation in the Spring exhibitions at the Art Association of Montreal in the 1930s. Alyne Gauthier subsequently married Roland-Hérald Charlebois who would later become director of the École des beaux arts de Montréal where Alyne was teaching engraving.
